Skate Buddies UK is hosting two engaging workshops that focus on the mental health benefits of roller skating, tailored specifically for business professionals.
In addition to participating in fun roller games and connecting with other businesses, you'll:
Learn practical tools to overcome fear, boost confidence, and enhance your skating skills.
- Focus on cultivating a positive, "I can, I will" mindset.
- Engage in fun team-building activities to foster collaboration with colleagues and other professionals.
- Discover the mental, emotional, and physical benefits of roller skating.
Whether you come solo to meet new people or bring your team for a unique bonding experience, this event promises to be both enjoyable and impactful. By fostering a workplace culture where employees feel valued, heard, and supported, employers can create an environment that inspires engagement and empowers teams to perform at their best.
At Skate Buddies UK CIC, we bring a deeply personal, lived-experience approach to addressing mental health, well-being, and fitness. We create safe and supportive environments for self-discovery, healing, and personal growth—key aspects of mental health management and maintenance.
Registration for this event is free, with a £5 charge for skate hire upon arrival.

Skate Community Rollerdance Workshop
About the event
You're in for a treat. 3 workshops for the great price if £25. Join Empress, Zaira and Cee Jay in learning 3 new routines in the styles of Latin, Hip Hop and Dancehall roller dance. This workshop is for beginners - advanced levels of skaters, there is something for everyone.

You can bring your own skates. Don't have skates and want to take part, skate hire is available at an additional £7.50.

Connecting our Empowr sk8fam communities
Day trip to Birmingham to connect with the Birmingham skate community and participate while sharing some of our flair with them as well.
We have 2 tickets options:
Empowr Skate Community workshop ticket: If you can get to the North Smethwick Development Trust - Brasshouse Community Centre on your own, then this ticket is for you. It grants you access to two separate sessions hosted by Skate Buddies and Empowr CIC.
Full Package Ticket: If you are from London (or surrounding areas), these tickets are designed for you. We have limited spots available on the minibus we will use for our journey, departing in the morning and returning in the evening. This skating trip includes a Skate Buddies Workshop, an Empowr CIC session, and entry to the Roller Jam Digbeth roller disco.

Skate Buddies 1st Anniversary - Community Day

Come and celebrate Skate Buddies 1st anniversary on Saturday July 13th 2024 at Calthorpe Park, Birmingham. This family fun day and skate community link in collaboration with Skate Brum and RolloutBHX will packed with full with fun, music and free food and refreshments.
On the day you will have the opportunity to become a part of the Skate Buddie family by purchasing and ordering your merchandise. By doing this you are supporting Skate Buddies to support the community and enable to us to continue providing workshops, equipment and events for the whole community.

This amazing and dynamic workout will incorporate cardiovascular and muscular strength and endurance exercises to get your heart pumping and muscles growing, by using your skates as weight resistance.
To get in volved in the class you will need:
Roller skates and a yoga mat.
